Artist’s Statement

Hello! I am Tina Neuer, a watercolor and mixed-media artist here in the beautiful state of California, where I conceptualize and create paintings in my home studio. My inspirations for abstract landscapes and botanicals come from places I have visited in my lifetime. My imagination sometimes leans toward the very abstract but always with a nod to the world around me. My work explores memories of the peace and solitude I found in nature as a child and as the adult I am now. Color has always played a huge part in my visions of the past. My career as a color and design specialist lasted 35 years. Many of my paintings are developed by the emotional ways that color makes me feel. Line, space, and composition are secondary.
